Minister João Lucas Quental Novaes de Almeida is the current director of the Department of Human Rights and Citizenship in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil.
As a career diplomat for almost thirty years, he has served in several posts, including the Permanent Missions of Brazil to the United Nations in New York and Geneva.
Minister João Lucas graduated in Economics and obtained master’s degrees in International Relations from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and from the London School of Economics (LSE).
